On the 24th of every month, something deeply moving happens in Cetinje – a small, proud, and truly independent town in Montenegro. Local residents set aside their everyday routines to take to the streets in a march of support for Ukraine. No matter the weather, the season, or the number of people who can come – they show up.
What makes this especially powerful is that this march is a Montenegrin initiative. And that warmth – the feeling of sincere solidarity – reaches straight to the heart.
Each walk ends with the Ukrainian national anthem near the former Russian embassy and with words that remind us: Montenegro is with us. We are not alone.
Each march hurts and heals at the same time.
Each march is for Ukraine and for Ukrainians.
That’s why, every 24th, we are in Cetinje. There is no other way.
Slava Ukraini!
Da je vječna!
