A motanka doll is more than a handmade toy – it’s a Ukrainian symbol of protection, tradition, and connection across generations. And now you can create your own.
We invite you to a special workshop where you’ll make a motanka protective doll without a needle, using only fabric scraps and thread. In the same session you’ll also design your doll’s look — bringing your creative ideas to life and becoming the “fashion designer” for your unique guardian doll.
One request: bring positive thoughts. In Ukrainian tradition, a motanka is believed to reflect the emotions you carry while creating it. We’ll provide all materials and guide you step by step.
The workshop will be led by the craftswomen of Uniting Hearts, using techniques and inspiration from Larysa Kostenko
Date: Friday, 14 November
Time: 17:00-19:00
