October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – a gentle but important reminder to stop postponing care with “I never have time.” This is the perfect moment to schedule a preventive check-up – or at least hear a specialist explain what screening is and why it matters.

That’s why Ukrainogortsi, together with Uniting Hearts, are joining the global Pink October initiative and launching a series of women’s meetings focused on health and prevention. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women, and early detection saves lives.

First online introductory meeting

🗓 Friday, 27 September
🕓 16:00
💛 Free (donations welcome)

You can join in one of two ways:

  1. In Budva – we’ll connect on a big screen and handle all the technical setup
📍 Uniting Hearts, Topliški put 3, Budva

  2. Online from home – we’ll send the link via private message

What we’ll talk about

Along with your questions, we’ll discuss in simple words:

  • women’s health in forced migration

  • what screening is and why it’s essential for protecting your health

Speaker

💖 Dr. Olena Datiienko (Nonko) – Kyiv-based oncologist–mammologist (@doc_mamolog), currently living in Belgrade. She has 13 years of experience, including 6 years at Ukraine’s National Cancer Institute in the breast pathology and reconstructive surgery department, and her first specialty is obstetrics & gynecology.

What’s next in October

Throughout October, you’ll have opportunities for consultations (preliminarily on Fridays), and you’ll also be able to book in-person appointments – Dr. Olena will travel from Belgrade to Budva especially for our community.

Please be attentive to your health. Life is worth fighting for.

P.S. If you don’t have anyone to leave your child with, Uniting Hearts has a separate kids’ playroom.
