What if Montenegro had a single marked walking route that runs 200 km along the entire coastline – from the Croatian border to Albania – linking beaches, the Bay of Kotor, Sveti Stefan, historic towns, and nature parks?
On Wednesday, 15 October, we invite you to an inspiring public talk with Irina Kuchma, who will present the Shetalishte project and share how this “hidden path” could become an official tourism product – with real benefits for communities along the route.
Why it matters
Around the world, long-distance trails have revitalized regions:
- Camino de Santiago (Spain) draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually
- Lycian Way (Turkey) supports tens of thousands of hikers and small businesses
- Appalachian Trail (USA) brings millions of visitors and thousands of jobs
Montenegro has huge potential — but many trails are currently short, fragmented, and sometimes unsafe. A continuous coastal trail could create ideal conditions for walking tourism — yet it remains unmarked and largely unknown, so it isn’t used by tourists.
Speaker
Irina Kuchma — director of a landscaping and territory-improvement company, and head of a project bureau.
