On 29 April 2023, Ukrainogortsi joined the 20th Anniversary Budva Carnival as the only team representing Ukraine – and it became a moment we will never forget.
This year’s carnival brought together 3,000 participants from 10 countries, with 70 teams in total. Our group performed as team #27, after two weeks of intensive rehearsals, hundreds of ideas, and countless adjustments – until everything came together as one.
More than anything, this was our chance to show what Ukraine is without even raising a flag: not only the reality of war, displacement, and the strength of volunteers, but also Ukraine’s beauty, musicality, authenticity, generosity, and love. A reminder that we are united – one heart for all.
We want to thank every person who became part of this journey, and especially Tetyana Piskareva – director and producer, singer, and Honored Artist of Ukraine. She guided our creative whirlwind and helped turn it into a powerful performance.
For almost a week, Budva’s carnival photos carried a special message: Ukraine stood out – bright, unique, and proud – like home.
Thank you for believing in us. We didn’t let you down.
We did it – because the Ukrainian diaspora in Budva exists.
