What if each of us could become Saint Nicholas for a child who is living through war?

“I Will Be Your Saint Nicholas” is a charity initiative by Uniting Hearts for children currently in Ukraine — children who hear air-raid sirens, know the “two walls” rule, and live under constant danger. Many of them no longer remember what a peaceful sky feels like.

We want to bring them a moment of real childhood joy on Saint Nicholas Day (6 December) – through gifts prepared by adults and children who can help from a safer place.

How to take part

Bring a new gift for a child (you can do it anonymously or include a card):
sweets • new toys • books • and other kid-friendly surprises
Volunteers will then create roughly equal gift packages.

Important notes

No price limit – choose any amount that feels comfortable
We cannot accept:

  • items made in Russia or Belarus
  • items in the Russian language
  • used/second-hand items (please bring only new gifts)
When & where to drop off gifts

Drop-off period: 15 November – 1 December
Drop-off location: gift boxes at Uniting Hearts, Topliški put 3, Budva

Who will receive the gifts

This year, gifts are planned for children who will come to Pristanište through the “Sleep in Silence” program (a group of teenagers 12–15 is expected). If we collect more gifts, we will also send them directly to children in Ukraine who need support (orphanages, hospitals, and more).

Why we’re doing this

In spring 2022, children who arrived in Budva after shelling received similar gifts from children in Germany – and it brought visible joy back into their eyes. We want to create that same priceless feeling again.

Join us this year: “I Will Be Your Saint Nicholas.”
